HURREVAC Storm Advisory Archive

This dataset provides a point-in-time archive and persistent mirror of the tropical cyclone advisory data from HURREVAC, the decision support tool used by the National Hurricane Program (a partnership between FEMA, USACE, and NOAA).

The data was programmatically captured from the HURREVAC API (/v1/advisories/storms) to ensure long-term accessibility for the emergency management and research communities, specifically to mitigate the risk of data loss due to potential funding shifts or service changes.

The archive consists of JSON-formatted records containing:

Current Storm Positions: Historical and active tropical cyclone coordinates.

Forecast Tracks: Official forecast data as issued during active storm events.

Metadata: Unique identifiers and structural data used by the Sea Island Software HVX platform.

Data Source Provider: National Hurricane Program via HURREVAC API. Original URL: http://hvx.hurrevac.com/hvx-api/v1/advisories/storms Format: JSON
